Floorwork, Partnering and Improvisation

This workshop should feel like going downhill on a bike: freeing, exhilarating, and out of control yet in your full power. Together we will explore the fearless flow of movement fueled by daring physicality,  vigorous floor work, and psychological improvisation. Following the body's natural momentum, we will move from high to low and everywhere in between. This class will unleash the power already existing in us and become a safe space for risk-taking and uncovering our personal unknowns.

The first part of this workshop will be highly physical floorwork inspired by breakdance capoeira, acrobatics, and contemporary. Bare feet, pants, and sleeves are recommended for optimal sliding, rolling, and flipping. We will warm up, move across the floor, break down floorwork pathways and mechanics, and end with an explosive big phrase. The second part of the workshop will be improvisational games inspired by my background in psychology, and will use our communal exhaustion to unearth new dimensions.
